In the response to the COVID-19 economic emergency, the Senate was quick in passing a $2 trillion dollar bill intended to provide relief to Americans affected by the pandemic and the economy. This Part II presentation of the COVID-19 tax series will focus on the details of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. (Part I of the series addresses the Families First Coronavirus Response Act)

Steven C. Dilley, CPA, JD, PhD is President of Federal Tax Workshops, Inc., East Lansing, Michigan, where for the past 36 years, his organization has prepared continuing professional education materials and presented seminars for accountants and attorneys throughout the United States.
